The day after his election, the GC36 Media Team sat down for an extensive interview with Father General Arturo Sosa. The latter received the thirty questions in the late afternoon; the interview took place on Sunday afternoon, 16 October.
The aim of the interview was to give Father General an opportunity to present and share some insights of what he had in mind when he was just starting his new mission in the Society of Jesus at the universal level. The hour and half interview is a journey from childhood, adolescence, years in formation as a young Jesuit, to becoming the Superior General. However, his academic background in political science and pastoral commitments in the social field gradually defines the portrait of a Jesuit dedicated to the Society of Jesus and committed to the service of faith and the promotion of justice.
From Caracas to Rome, passing through Táchira and throughout Latin America; from a social centre to the Jesuit Curia in Rome, passing through several universities but also through the barrios of the Venezuelan-Colombian border; from parish pastoral work to the animation of the Universal Society, through being Provincial and support Jesuits in so many circumstances: this is what brings the in-depth interview that the communications team of the Congregation offers to all those who are interested in what the Jesuits are living, having chosen as Arturo Sosa General. The transcription of the interview will be released tomorrow in PDF, we are working in the final editing. In the meantime here you have the first video of the serie of 4 that will be published in these days:
